Adnan booked for Asian Formula Racing Championship

LAHORE: Pakistan’s famous car racing driver Adnan Sarwar has become the first-ever Pakistani driver who has been selected for the Asian Formula Racing Championship 2009. “Current champions, Asian Racing Team has extended the offer of full time racing seat for the season to me and I feel really delighted to be the first Pakistani to compete at such level of motor racing in Asia “, said Lahore based Adnan while talking to media here on Tuesday. The series of 7 races will be held in China and Malaysia and will be held on Formula 1 race circuits using 2.0 litre Formula Renault race cars. Formula Renault series previously has helped drivers like Kimi Raikkonen and Phillipe Massa on their Formula 1 career, said Bank Alfalah supported driver who has the distinction of representing the country in the Indian Formula Racing Championship in 2008 and is the first local Pakistani racing driver to test for the A1 GP team Pakistan. “ I am making rapid progress in motor sports and my selection is a milestone in my career and this is indeed a memorable moment for myself and the country “, he said.
